Bridging the Gender Gap
Empowering the next generation of female players and leaders, through establishing youth programs, advancement pathways, mentorship networks, and leadership training.
Goals
- The Foundation is committed to increasing participation among girls and young women in cricket.
- We will introduce a girls youth program, based on fundamental skills in a supporting and inspiring environment.
- We will support the development of a girls pathway focused on league and hardball T20 competitions, giving participants the opportunity to transition from learning the game to playing competitive cricket.
The Foundation aims to provide mentorship, skill development, and long-term engagement, empowering young women, building confidence, and cultivating the next generation of players, leaders, and advocates for cricket. By creating clear pathways for talent development and competitive play, the Foundation aims to give girls every opportunity to grow, succeed, and enjoy a lifelong connection to the sport.
Access & Equity
Removing barriers to entry for disadvantaged and underrepresented youth, offering free cricket clinics, adaptive sessions for children with disabilities, equipment provisions, and complementary matchday experiences.
Goals
- The Foundation seeks to remove barriers that prevent disadvantaged youths from participating in cricket.
- By working with local community groups across the Bay Area, we will deliver accessible cricket clinics and programs tailored for children with disabilities, as well as those from culturally diverse and low socio-economic communities.
The Foundation aims to give all youth, regardless of economic circumstances, the chance to learn, play, and thrive in cricket while enjoying a safe, supportive, and engaging sporting experience. Through these planned initiatives, the Foundation aims to foster a diverse cricketing community and culture, welcoming participants from all backgrounds and creating lasting connections to the sport.
Grassroots Pathways & Infrastructure
Building the foundation for sustainable growth, by developing community cricket hubs, youth league infrastructure, providing equipment grants, and developing shared cricketing spaces.
Goals
- The Foundation is dedicated to putting the right programs, equipment, and facilities in place to give every child the opportunity to play, develop, and love cricket.
- The Foundation will create a program where youth of all skill levels and abilities can engage in fun, game-based activities that teach fundamental skills, build teamwork, and nurture a lifelong passion for the sport.
To support these programs and the broader growth of cricket, the Foundation is also committed to developing high-quality, accessible facilities, equipment, and infrastructure, while also engaging communities to raise awareness of the Unicorns brand and foster a stronger, more vibrant cricket culture across the Bay Area.
